About sara

Sara Roohisefat (b. 1978, Iran) is a Tehran-based visual and installation artist whose work explores the subtle tensions between personal memory, everyday life, and the collective experience of contemporary society.

Working primarily with found and familiar objects, she transforms ordinary materials into poetic installations that question the boundaries between the private and the public, the visible and the hidden. Through delicate arrangements of space, light, and form, her art invites viewers to pause, reflect, and re-experience the emotional landscapes of daily existence.

Roohisefat has presented her work in numerous solo and group exhibitions, including An Ordinary Night (Azad Gallery, Tehran, 2015), the Fifth Tehran Sculpture Biennial, and international shows such as Speaking from the Heart (Framer Framed, Amsterdam, 2013).

Her practice continues to evolve around themes of identity, presence, and transformation—seeking to create quiet spaces where meaning unfolds in the viewer’s own rhythm and imagination.
